What is Loop & Comfort?

Loop & Comfort is a small-batch yarn brand that focuses on sustainable making. We turn old sweaters into soft, renewed yarn for mindful crafters.

What is frogging?

A term used in the knitting and crochet communities to refer to the act of ripping out or undoing a project.

How is the yarn made?

Each sweater is unraveled by hand, cleaned, and rewound into fresh skeins. It’s slow work, but it helps keep materials in use and out of landfills.

Is the yarn clean and safe to use?

Yes. Every sweater is washed with fragrance and dye free detergent before unraveling. Each skein is cleaned, conditioned, and dried before it’s ready for crafting.

What can I make with this yarn?

You can use it for crochet, knitting, weaving, and other fiber projects. Most yarn behaves like standard commercial yarn, but with a softer, lived-in feel.

Why is the yarn listed in grams/ounces and not yardage?

Since each skein is spun manually, there might be variations in tension causing the yardage to be different. The weight is the most practical and dependable way to quantify an amount of frogged yarn.

Why choose upcycled yarn?

It’s an easy way to craft more sustainably. You get unique, soft materials while reducing waste and giving old sweaters a second life.

Will the colors be consistent?

Upcycled yarn varies from sweater to sweater, so color and texture shifts are normal. This makes each skein one-of-a-kind.

Do you offer custom orders?

Yes. If you’re looking for a certain color, texture, or weight, you can contact us and we’ll check what’s available.

Do you have care instructions?

We recommend hand washing your items or using the delicate cycle with cold water. Avoid using bleach products. We also recommend you tumble dry or hang dry your items as some fabrics can shrink. Ironing is not recommended, as the heat may be too harsh for some items. Steaming is preferred and recommended and it's the safest way to remove wrinkles. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the care of your product, please feel free to contact us.

When will products be restocked?

All products are made in batches. When new items drop, there will be an announcement on our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok pages, as well as email notification. Feel free to subscribe (form at the bottom of the page) to our email list for announcements, restocks, and sales. 

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the U.S., with plans to expand as we grow.

Can I return or exchange yarn?

Because each skein is unique, we do not accept returns. But if there’s an issue with your order, contact us and we’ll make it right.

Can I make changes or edits to my order and/or address?

Please be sure to include the correct shipping address and double check your information. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHANGES TO ADDRESS once order is submitted. If you find there is a mistake, we will cancel your order and issue a store credit so that you may re-purchase your items.
